Will the police do anything?

For a few nights now there's someone riding the roads really dangerously on what looks like a dirt bike. My previous interactions with the police is that they've been largely dismissive of things I've reported. Shall I report?

You can report it, but we have lots of them driving around our town like it and the police do nothing.
I saw one race at a really fast speed infront of a police car and thought they were stupid and would get chased. The police appeared to just ignore it.

the police are too afraid they will be blamed if the idiot rider breaks a fingernail or dies

There's very little they can do. It's too dangerous to engage them in a pursuit & the riders know it.

Problem.is when the police pursue them and they end up under a 10 ton truck, who do you think gets the blame?
Sometimes natural selection kicks in and they off themselves through their own stupidity. There has been a couple of them in my town and of course they are heralded like heroes 😡

The police are damned if they do something and damned if they don't.

No harm in logging it for the pattern. The police won't do anything, at least they don't round here and it's a bit problem.

What sort of things have you reported?

Not all police cars /drivers can chase reckless/speeding drivers . They have to have special training . Maybe they put a call though when they see this sort of thing

They can’t chase a motorbike so I doubt they’ll do anything.
