I have to be in the office Wednesday.

Which 3 days would you work .
I thought Mom, Tue, Wed but then I’d have the children Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun !

so . which days would be best do you think. For the children who are going to nursery and for me and my sanity!

Interested to here ! Thanks 😊

What's the big deal about having the children?

I would do Weds, Thurs and Friday.

Against the general grain here, but I work 3 days a week and have one day off in the middle of the week and a Friday off. Absolutely love my mid week day off for a few reasons.

It breaks up the week for the children - pre-school and childminder.

Give me a break from doing the pack ups / manic getting out the house in the morning on time etc

The night before my midweek day off is an amore chilled bedtime because I'm not stressing about getting them asleep by a certain time.

Spreads out the time I have with them, and like you means I don't have a gigantic chunk of time together -
It makes it feel more enjoyable to me to have this time with them.

If I was you I would work M/W/Th or T/W/F . Either way you get 3 days off together and you get a break in the week which breaks it up.

They get VERY tired and grumpy after the second day in a row childcare so I think a day off for them is nice.

Ibe done various digfeeent options. My favourite was MWF. Most people except a response to emails within 48hrs, so with those days I never needed to check on my off days. Likewise decisions never needed to wait long, so nobody felt inconvenienced by having to wait much for me.

I also found that always made home a break from work and work a break from home. Kids being ill for 2 days only meant finding one day of childcare or missing one day of work. I was breastfeeding too, and had no issues keeping that up.

Downside is obviously you can't travel for long weekends etc.

Depends on the job. For my job 3 consecutive days would be easier so I wasn't playing catch up twice from the two missed days but others that wouldn't matter.

I also do 3 days a week, and have to work Mondays (childcare issue) but working Monday completely screws my holiday allowance due to the vacation adjustment, so I go with the other posters and say avoid Monday if possible.
I like working Fridays, it's quieter, and a lot of people are on a bit of a go-slow, so they send fewer mails and make fewer calls, so I get LOADS done.
