DH, maternity leave and sick days

I have a newborn DD and I’m sick with a horrendous cold and cough. I haven’t slept for a couple of days and just feel rough. I caught it from my DH. When he was ill last week with it, he took 2 sick days and recovered in bed whilst I looked after DD like normal.

Ive asked DH if he can take a day leave so I can have a ‘sick’ day. Or even wfh to help but he’s refusing as I’m on mat leave so already home. He hates asking his manager for leave so I think this is the real reason. AIBU to think he should try to help? I can’t sleep and panicked about how to make it through tomorrow with baby.

My DC is a toddler, not a newborn, but fundamental point is the same.

I had a recent thread on this. DH took two days off. I felt slightly better and went back to work. I’m feeling worse today but he has arranged to work from home tomorrow.

Oh, and from the way it has progressed, I now think it is covid rather than the flu although I am testing negative atm.

WWYD? Mum with the flu | Mumsnet

I’m a SAHM and I have the flu. It came on very quickly. It definitely isn’t the worst I have ever felt but it is still the flu so I feel like shit....

YANBU! So he got to sit in bed and recover but you don't get the same luxury?!
