Firstly I apologise for posting in here but it’s for traffic! I have been experiencing muscle twitches the past few years which last in that particular spot for a nano second then will happen somewhere else. At first it was probably as often as a couple of a day but the past 6 months it’s got so much more frequent so every few seconds. The twitches are mainly in my legs,,and hands. Never on my face and eyes. I only really notice it when sitting or lying down.

Now to give to some background I take Venlafaxine 225mg x1 a day and 100mg lamotrigine/ lamictal x1 day for mixed affective disorder ( type of bipolar) now when I first experienced it I decided to ignore it thinking it was related to my medication and no way way anyone taking me off my medication after being a guinea pig for ten years and finally finding something that works.

However with the increased frequency I’ve started to worry but also stupidly realised well is it even related to my medication, is it even a side effect?! So my question is- is muscle twitching a side effect of one or both of these medications and if so what is the long term prognosis of the twitching? I just want to add I will be booking a drs appt this week but I just can’t stop thinking about it all of a sudden. any info would be much appreciated.

No idea about any links to your medication, but I've had these kinds of twitches as a result of a vitamin B deficiency. I started using an oral spray supplement and it stopped.

Thank you for your reply, please can I ask how often you had the twitches and did the drs recommend any particular foods that can help?
