Men and football

One thing I've noticed about some men I know is how passionate they are about football and the amount of effort they put in to keeping up with all the players, transfers and tactics of all the teams they play.

Some of the same men I know who put all the effort into football are pretty lazy when it comes to their own lives... I wonder if all the men who put this much passion into football could put it into improving themselves.... Then what an amazing group of men we'd have... 🤣

Example: one of my mates who is pretty lazy (he openly admits it) was talking about a player called "Walker" anyway he knew every team he played for, and every price he was sold at when he transferred clubs. 🤣

I was like.... "How do you know all of this" and he said it's common footie knowledge. 🤣

I've known this man for years and never seen him this passionate or pumped up! Like I honestly think these men need to be studied by scientist. 🤣
It honestly baffles me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Agree with PP, if someone is lax in their marriage/parenting then that’s a problem. But knowing a lot about football isn’t really here or there, I think most people have a ‘specialty subject’ they are super knowledgeable on. For me it’s Harry Potter and Taylor Swift lyrics, hardly useful to society but not harmful

I really think most men have a specialised brain compartment that can only be used for this sort of knowledge. It occupies the space the rest of us use to organise ourselves at work or home without having to rely on assistance from others.

I'm sure many of us could happily devote much of our focus and mental space to things that really interest us, rather than to the daily grind. But yes, the difference is, some men seem to have grown up feeling they are entitled to do that while their partners do the domestic work. Happily mine manages to have many interests (not football) and do his bit as well.
