What is wrong with me?! Been bloated for months now

I have been bloated since September last year, some days are worse than others. I have always had a flat stomach so it’s definitely not normal for me.

Since then I’ve had various tests. I’ve had stool tests, all of which came back negative. I have had a coeliac test which came back negative. My CA125 blood test was normal. IBS test normal. I’ve tried keeping a food diary and no patterns, I have switched to everything whole meal as well and nothing is making a difference. I’ve been in and out the GP and everything always comes back fine.

And yet today, I’m the most bloated I’ve ever been. I feel puffy and horrible and my loose trousers are so tight.

Where do I go from here?! I feel like I’ve been tested for everything and it’s just getting worse

I've been exactly the same and ended up with severe abdominal pain. I was impacted. Been using movical for two weeks now and it's so much better.

BTW I did have an x-Ray and scan which showed it all.

Have you tried cutting carbohydrates to see if that makes a difference ?

Elephantsarenottheonlyfruit · 11/07/2024 17:30

I was going to suggest giving up bread.

Candyflosscrochet · 11/07/2024 17:33

Similar issues but with added morning rush diarrhea.
Wasn't coeliac but appears I am non-coeliac gluten intolerant. My youngest son is the same.
Went gluten free and things improved dramatically.
I also can't tolerate large quantities of rice or oats.
Worth eliminating.

Food intolerance? Maybe gluten or dairy.

Skyrainlight · 11/07/2024 17:38

You can still be intolerant to gluten despite the coeliac test coming back negative. I was having problems with digestion and bloating and I gave up gluten (it's in so many things it's ridiculous) and dairy and it has made a huge difference.

baklavagoddess · 11/07/2024 17:39

I've had this, turns out I had extremely poor gut health and no good bacteria at all! I have been working to get my gut healthier and have noticed a huge change in my symptoms

Pleaseleavemealone0 · 11/07/2024 17:39

I was also going to suggest gluten intolerance. I have a dc with this (also one with coeliac) so had lots of tests.
We eliminated gluten totally and was much improved within two weeks.

My mum did something like this, based on a book called eat right for your blood type Sounds nuts but made a world of difference to her. Massively so. It's an easy fix too if it works.

Coconutter24 · 11/07/2024 18:06

Have you done a food sensitivity test? Sounds like ibs. What test did you have for that? When I was diagnosed they said there is no test for ibs it’s just a case of ruling everything else out first

user675654 · 11/07/2024 18:08

I’ve cut out bread. I’m still eating cake biscuits etc but nothing with yeast. My bloating has completely gone. I look so much slimmer. I’m 50.

DarknessDark · 11/07/2024 18:25

Would it be worth doing a food sensitivity test? I’ve heard they can be a bit inaccurate
