Genuinely worried I have cancer

I have 5 marble sized lumps in my neck that I've been putting off getting checked out for the last 6 months. I finally took the plunge and have a telephone consultation with the GP on Wednesday.

I'm 31 and have a 1 year old and I'm so scared that this is something sinister 😢 has anyone else had little marble type lumps in their neck which turned out innocent?

Thank you

Those are your glands aka lymph nodes.

Sometimes raised lymph nodes that don't go away are a sign of cancer in your lymphatic system, other times they just remain swollen long after an infection has passed.

It's worth checking out, but it's not "definitely cancer".

One of my work colleagues had this. Wasn’t cancer. Can’t remember what it was but it was sorted out.

Daughter had this too, about a year after having a baby. Maybe hormone related? She was sent for tests and all was fine. Don’t worry if you are sent for tests. Doctors often start with a worse case scenario to rule it out. Which is a good thing.
