DS was feeling a bit rough last night and had a bit of a temperature. This morning he’s got a horrendous rash but only on his cheeks. I’ve googled and can only come up with slapped cheek but I thought that was little kids not older ones? Do I need to get him checked at the GP tomorrow?

Looks like it yeah, can affect kids of all ages, adults get it too but don't usually get the red cheeks. Gp won't be able to do anything and aslong as they are well they can go to school

Mine had it recently and it looked like this. The rash on body came up about a week later and lasted about 2 weeks. In the last week before it went they were exhausted and kept sleeping. With the rash I gave an anti-histamine which made it less red looking. Overall they were normal in themselves and carried on as normal as per guidelines. Didn't bring mine to doctor as i was aware it had been in creche so knew what it was and as PP doctor won't give anything.

My almost 10 yr old got it from his younger brother. A few days of slightly pink cheeks then the rash moved down to his arms. Both boys were lucky and had no temperature at all.

A pharmacist confirmed it was slapped cheek with my youngest as drs can't do anything anyway.
