Jess Phillips intimidation - I’m so sad and angry for her.

I am so angry for Jess Philips, her supporters , and any candidate (Shabana Mahmood also) who has suffered harassment and threats today and throughout the election campaign. The intimidation Jess has suffered has no place in our democracy and I really hope we get full news reporting on this ,that people are prosecuted, and that Jess and Shabana receive proper protection. There are a few video clips on line showing Jess trying to give her acceptance speech and her response to it later. Sorry I can’t work out how to attach.

Yes it is awful, the threats, the intimidation. But it has been happening to women everywhere for years. Women have been talking about the behaviour of violent, abusive men for years and, because they are allowed to get away with it, this is where we are. It is disgraceful.

The more threads the better, as far as I'm concerned. This shit has been gong on for years and been covered up by non-partial news sources like the BBC and the Guardian. Even MN has tended to sweep discussions of it onto one board (what was FWR) that many posters say they don't read or have hidden.
