I've researched. But I'm unsure who to vote for.

Which party do people have the most faith in?

This is not the way to decide how to use your vote.

Idkwhotovotefor · 04/07/2024 09:31

They all say they will do this and this but will they?

Well you have solid proof of what a Conservative government will do as you’ve seen them in action for over a decade.

US2gether · 04/07/2024 09:36

The Conservative government have shown you who they are and what they do. If you like it, vote for more.

If you don't then vote for a change.

Go check out your local NHS hospital and think whether it has improved with14 years of Tory rule. Or any other public service. Or look at your food and fuel bills. You want 5 more years of them?

eurochick · 04/07/2024 09:37

I will be making a polling booth decision. The choices are all dreadful.

I certainly don't want the current party to win.

Lib Dem then. If you don’t want left/right extremes, LD is a good vote.

ScribblingPixie · 04/07/2024 09:42

OP, you're voting for an individual constituency MP, someone who will represent your interests in Parliament. Who, out of the choice you have, do you think will do the best job with that? Who could you go to if you had a problem and feel they'd give you a fair hearing and try their best to help you? Which candidate really cares about your area and the people who live in it?

Carebearsonmybed · 04/07/2024 09:44

LDs are bonkers!

Remove all women's rights, have every kid become a drug addict, have no age of consent, proportional representation which will allow extremists into government.

Then look up tactical voting in your constituency and vote for the candidate who is more likely to take the seat away from Tories. If there is one… If you are in a safe Tory seat, you can spoil your ballot

tabulahrasa · 04/07/2024 09:53

I go with the - choosing who to vote for is like catching a bus, not getting married, you’re not looking for “the one” that’s perfect for you, but the one that takes you closest to where you want to be.

rumred · 04/07/2024 09:54

Labour - they are less immoral and potentially a force for good.

Go for who you feel best represents you and their values that you most align with.
Nobody else can tell you what to do, as some will swear blind that they have complete faith in the Tories for example but I'm the complete opposite .

FunkyMonks · 04/07/2024 09:58

I've not voted for the two main ones as I can't stand either and remember when we did have a labour government with Blair and brown.
I think they all lie and say they will do things but truth be told is each have equally fucked up the uk and when in power each tries to unpick the damage the other has done so we all end up in circles of very few things being delivered as promised.

Pieceofpurplesky · 04/07/2024 09:58

I will be voting labour. As a woman my life has been made really hard under a Tory government and I believe that Starmer is a solid and educated man who had a career in something other than finance and self gain before politics.

I will ignore any of the 'but women will be eradicated' comments that get spouted on here - Starmer has said he will protect actual women's spaces whilst remaining respectful of trans rights - the bitterness between the two sides needs to stop. I am voting with my heart for a party who I hope will help health, education etc.

Erm this is a lie btw
Of course they don't want every kid to be a drug addict and proportional representation is what we bloody need for everyones vote to actually count.
They're also not removing any more women's rights than any other party other than Torys who fucked women - and everyone else over anyway (although I agree I'd much rather they stood up for women)
They are also planning to raise minimum wage for carers which is a bloody brilliant idea IMO and crack down on sewage being released.
Not sure if I'm going to vote for them or Labour myself but no need to spread lies about them.

Proportional representation would allow a fair representation of all views. And given that centre left parties together get more vote share than the right would redress the imbalance of first past the post that favours the Tories if people don't vote tactically.

Oh, and you didnt notice the extremists within the Tory Party that have caused so much harm under the existing system? When Reform and the Tories unite and the existing electoral system remains things will get much worse.

Agree. I've been an nhs nurse for 20 years, I certainly didn't vote Conservative.
