It’s from the Little Moons advert on tv. . It’s a relatively well known classical piece (romantic period).

The reason I want to know is because my late father used to play it on the violin, and I’ve always loved it. It brings back lots of happy memories.

Google and Shazam didn’t give any results.

TIA 🙏

Schubert - Standchen

Thank you both so much 💐 I remember now that it’s Song without words! DF loved Schubert.

Incidentally also plagiarised for the Succession opening credits theme (though no credits given to poor Schubert)

How interesting that your father called it "Song Without Words" given that it is very much a song with words (though obviously he wouldn't have been playing those on the violin)!

My daughter played Ständchen on the cello for one of her ABRSM exams. I remember giving her a translation of the original words to try and help her understand and convey the feeling of the piece.

Thank you, I was mixing the titles of this piece (Swan song) with Fauré’s Chanson sans paroles.
