Pizza with upset tummy

Got lots of diarrhea as on 2 types of antibiotics.
Wibu to have pizza for tea?
It's a food I love but avoid because it bloats me and adds on weight wise.
When having diarrhea can I just eat what I want?

You need to eat something that will settle your stomach at first. Dry toast usually works for me x

stressedespresso · 03/07/2024 18:35

YABU to ask MN posters for permission to eat.

Horsedatives · 03/07/2024 18:36

Thanks I've been having dry toast all day. It's just all turning into through-fall

If it won't make you feel worse, then sure. It might though. Maybe a risk worth taking if you can't usually have it? Your call.

Dairy and carbs not best idea

KreedKafer · 03/07/2024 18:39

Do you mean “Does diarrhoea mean I can eat pizza without absorbing any calories?” If so, the answer is no. Diarrhoea just dehydrates you, it doesn’t stop you gaining weight.

If you mean “Will pizza make my diarrhoea worse?” then although it won’t harm you (given that your dose of the shits has been caused by antibiotics and not a bug) it certainly isn’t the ideal thing to eat with diarrhoea, especially if it bloats you even when your gut is normal.

Noseyoldcow · 03/07/2024 19:15

If dry toast is going straight through you I should think so will anything else. But I wouldn't risk anything that normally gives me the bloats because of the potential explosive effects. Diarrhoea is bad enough without wind to jet propel it! 💨💥

That was what I meant lol

All food is out within hours, can the full calories really be harvested in that time?

Do you have disordered eating?

DilemmaDelilah · 03/07/2024 19:20

Bananas are the thing to eat with diarrhoea. Well, not WITH diarrhoea, obviously, but when one has diarrhoea. They are 'binding' apparently.

Honestly that’s a bit of a disturbing way of looking at it.

Wizardcalledoz · 03/07/2024 19:23

That's a really disordered way of thinking. You need to eat whatever your body can comfortably manage while ill, not be eating a food you normally avoid because the majority of it will be poohed out. Would you actually enjoy the pizza, or be eating it because you think you 'can get away with it' from a weight perspective?
