Didn't know such a thing existed, but Google says they do!

MidnightPatrol · 03/07/2024 18:17

I would imagine if one drew a venn diagram to include ‘tropical’ and ‘luxury’ swimming pools, there would be no overlap.

Cerialkiller · 03/07/2024 18:19

The best pool is near me but unfortunately it's a center parks. Elveden forest if you are interested. I assume you mean an indoor one!

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 03/07/2024 18:19

Tropical pool centre parcs.

Luxury pool any 5 star hotel

Cerialkiller · 03/07/2024 18:21

Alton towers or the pirates cove in Barnsley

Ginkypig · 03/07/2024 18:22

What's a tropical pool? Do you just mean heated pool?

I may be showing my ignorance here 😂

what I really love to find is more Uk places with private pools.
I like the idea of doing a villa/private pool type holiday but without having to travel abroad.

of course I know it’s not a great idea environmentally or logically in this country but I can still think about it.

LizzieBennett73 · 03/07/2024 18:22

I wouldn't call Centre Parcs luxury unless you count a dose of norovirus as a holiday essential...

We loved Bovey Castle, the hotel and spa is lovely. And Lucknam Park near Bath. In fact the Spa baths in Bath are worth a visit too.

Redshoes3456 · 03/07/2024 18:37

Thanks so far! Will look up Bovey Castle and Bath, and Centre Parcs- keep the suggestions coming- so grateful! 👌

Blackpool sandcastle water park.
Bluestone resort in Pembrokeshire
Centre Parcs

mitogoshi · 03/07/2024 19:16

Do you mean with slides etc or luxury as in really nice because my idea of luxury doesn't involve children for starters.

There's lovely lidos for instance, the one in Bristol is great, great restaurant too though we go to Portishead which is usually around 29 degrees

Redshoes3456 · 03/07/2024 19:19

Love Berlin so thanks so much!!!

Alpamare in Scarborough might fit the bill. Its a bit out of the way though.

I have been to Tropical islands posted above. Just be aware if you stay in a tent in the actual pool area it is really hot and humid and check out is quite early (although you can continue to use the pools). Fantastic breakfast though and there are also proper hotel rooms.

Terme Bucharest is amazing, if you can find cheap flights it will be far cheaper than the UK. It is near the airport and lots of hotels and there is an large adult only zone.

I know you said UK, is Germany too far? This looks amazing https://www.tropical-islands.de/en

We went here last year it was amazing.

Yorkshiredolls · 03/07/2024 19:35

Barnsley calypso cove (metrodome) could loosely be called tropical but it is not luxury and certainly not kid free!

PeachyKeane · 03/07/2024 19:36

We stayed in a proper room, it was like a tree house, had air conditioning. The waterpark is open 24 7 so you can sit on the beach and watch the sun go down.

Included with our stay was the spa which is really lovely, but ds12 was most amused as you were supposed to be naked in there. We pretended we didn't realise, there was no way the poor lad could have coped with being naked with his mum 😜

Maybe try Portavadie in Argyll? We went last summer. Quite remote but lovely and peaceful.

We went sailing around there and moored for a night. The complex was so quiet it was creepy! It seems upmarket but plain/no atmosphere :/

It was lovely when we were there last July but we were part of a large group staying the the apartment complex so maybe its different depending on time of the year. Or maybe we had got through enough wine that we didnt notice 🤣

Bjorkdidit · 03/07/2024 20:02

This is supposed to be opening in Manchester next year.

What will make the pool luxury/tropical for you? Many spas have lots of spa baths and hot tubs and usually a small swimming pool

Or a heated lido on a warm day is pretty nice

Portavadie is lovely. Tbh I prefer it there when it's quiet, so peaceful! (I'm an antisocial sort though)
