Colleague said my face will look horrible

So 2 years ago I had my nose done and I do get my lips done, a tiny amount and I’m stopping now.

She mentioned she was getting botox and I said oh I was thinking of getting this facial. She then said what if you lose all this weight and then you’re gonna be like my face is horrible because of all the work you’ve had done …

I didn’t really process what she said until now and think what a messed up thing to say to someone

It does sound as though you are very insecure about your looks OP.
Perhaps you should work on your self esteem and stop having conversations about botox and the like with your colleague. I'm sure such conversations only fuel insecurities.

I can't even follow what she means? Why would you look "horrible" if you lost weight? What is she on about?

Wotcher · 02/07/2024 15:45

Yeah I don’t understand this post either?

purplecorkheart · 02/07/2024 15:49

Sorry I don't understand the entire of your post however she should not be making personal comments like that. It is rude.

HappierTimesAhead · 02/07/2024 15:49

Hmm, this hyper fixation on image feels familiar 🤔

Beth216 · 02/07/2024 16:31

Is she saying the work you've had done won't look right if you lose weight on your face? I've no idea if that's true or even a possibility. Is it?

Whoosie · 02/07/2024 16:52

It’s a weird comment but perhaps she is just saying that you don’t know what effect weight loss will have? I don’t really know about plastic surgery or Botox so I’m a bit rubbish with that kind of thing. What I can say is my face changed a fair bit when I lost a lot of weight, i struggle with loose skin and wrinkles that wouldn’t normally be there. I’m more ‘jowly’ than I would expect to be at my age and a slight turkey neck. Would that cause an issue on past facials? Have you shared with your friend that you’re trying to lose weight at all?

She said she was getting botox.

One surgery that I’m extremely happy with. And having my 0.5ml once a year in my lips is hardly “insecure”.

I mentioned getting a facial. It’s good to look after your skin, again that’s not an insecurity.

Fair enough OP if you are happy with your surgery and lip filler. I didn't find the reference to botox very clear.
I don't know what age you both are but having conversations about having to have surgical and non surgical interventions to make yourselves feel acceptable is a sign of low self esteem.to me.
