if it makes the media concentrate less on mythical risk of peodos in playground and more on helping families that can't cope

the media does what it does
it will concentrate on what sells papers

For me, the worst thing about it (from a media perspective, not a child welfare one) I think is that so many people seem to have these negative associations with their lifestyle - lots of kids by different fathers, living on benefits etc etc and it's almost like they've been proved "right" in their prejudices

So in answer to the OP - don't think anything positive will come of it - people will just think "oh, typical dole-scrounging types". They won't think, "how can we help people like KM?"

I agree.
I did sigh when i saw Km had been arrested as it seemed to prove all the middle class daily mail reading snobbo's right.

she was a typical estate chav who didn't care about her children...just the way they view all mothers who claim benefits no doubt.
