Struggling with life after lovely holiday?

i’ve been back from holiday over a week now and I just can’t settle back in. I go from being so happy and really feel like I’m starting to enjoy my life. To being depressed and not wanting to work or just deal with everyday life. Cleaning bills kids work on repeat everyday!

I’m always booking things up like weekends away so I have something to look forward to.

I probably sound ridiculous as I know other people are really struggling out there. But it’s just awful!

Does anyone else get like this? I just can’t shift the feeling.

Yes me.

Returned two weeks ago and still feeling low. I don’t feel happy unless I have something booked to look forward too. Life is really hard right now, if I had the money I’d have booked another holiday already.

Yeah it's horrible. But if you didn't have that job you wouldn't be able to have the holidays and weekends away. That's what gets me through it knowing I have to do the bad stuff to get the good stuff.

Yep that’s a good way of putting it 🤣

Oh I know the feeling OP. The key for me is to always have a couple of holidays or weekends away booked in advance so I have something to "live for" 😅
When I feel like crap I just remind myself I only have this many weeks till I'll be away.
7 more weeks now to Greece😭

I think this is fairly normal. I feel like this every time.

I know it’s a cliché but I feel there’s a lot to be said for creating a life you don’t need to escape from. Could you look into changing jobs so you are happier at home? I feel like cleaning and bills are inevitable and shouldn’t take too much time and your kids should be part of what brings you joy at home. It’s a very long life to be just living from holiday to holiday.

We came back off holiday on Saturday. I still have unpacked crap strewn around the house, although all the laundry has been done and wash bags put away. As soon as it's tidied up, the holiday's confined to the past 😭
It was a short 4 night trip across country, but absolutely fantastic. DD and I are visiting my mother overseas in August but I'm not particularly looking forward to it.
We may have to squeeze in a few nights' camping at the end of this month to keep us sane!

Post holiday blues OP it's awful. Wouldn't be so bad if we had some decent weather here, and the way of life is more relaxed in some countries even the places where they work endless hours.
Get your next destination booked or look at places to go I find that helps.

Totally agree with this.
