I am one of those over thinkers regarding foods. I have tended to eat really healthy stuff for most of my life, and don't have any issues associated with my diet, but I was thinking the other day how much I loved Bird's Eye chicken stuff. I know it's crap, but with a good salad I could sink a kiev or dusted portion with relish.
I usually avoid due to animal welfare issues, but I am not exactly convinced M&S chicken had a better life unless it's organic Sad..

I also love crap noodles, especially Maggi Curry and Soba noodles. Pre fried OMG. I don't think once a week is a huge fucking issue if we are worrying about ultra processed foods. I cook from scratch mostly, fresh fish, veg, all of the good stuff, but I really prefer a crap protein contingent for some weird reason.

So, like, if we are talking twice per week, one item of processed crap, I doubt we will die any younger. There's some really uptight views on this, and I get it, having watched the Tulliken bro's or whatever they're called, stuff.

AIBU do you think?

How much processed food you eat is a personal choice. I'm not a dietician, so not sure if there is a specified max per week? Processed often has additional salt which can be an issue.
Have you thought about making your own chicken kiev or say stuffed/crumbed chicken breast/thighs? You could choose free range or British chicken and know exactly what is in it that way.

I know what you mean, lived for 10 years eating all home made, done the kiev, the fish, all of it, but still love the idea of a my birds eye Grin I suppose that's my point, I am happy to make my own soups, etc, and have grown quite good at cooking, but I a few time sper week I would prefer something frankenfoody!

Almost everything is fine in moderation and anyone with a very extreme hardline stance on a subject is usually a bit daft imo

I’m partial to an occasional birdseye oven tea myself - it’s shit but it’s nostalgic shit for me personally

Haha, i go back 10 yrs here, I used to cook up a ton of fresh veg or salad and eat with a homemade sauce with fresh herbs and lemon, but still had the birds eye chicken chargrill

Over the years I graduated back to my childhood and started cooking my meat from scratch. Organic, fresh salmon, etc. For some reason it never tastes as good to me, even though I know this is bollocks. Can't lie though!

I eat at least 90% good stuff, with wholegrains, fresh fruit and veg, sushi, soups and so on, but I want my shitty protein at least a couple of times per week. Considering it's in a minimum, I can't see it screwing me up. It's not like I am mainlining donuts and microwave meals and mars bars.
