AIBU C4 Dispatches

AIBU to ask everyone to watch C4 Dispatches: Undercover at A&E before voting on Thursday. This is representative of every hospital in the UK. People are dying unnecessarily in hospitals. The Conservative Party is responsible for this situation. Our NHS is on its knees during the last Labour government the NHS had the highest satisfaction rates. I live in NI so can't vote to get the tories out so may I ask you to?

I've seen it. Very worrying indeed. YADNBU. The tories have created this mess and need to go.

Barneysmomma · 01/07/2024 21:36

It's the same situation in Wales where Labour have been in charge for 25 years.

For Balance you might want to look at the NHS in Wales ( labour controlled for 20+ years ) and Scotland SNP controlled - sadly no better.

As a nurse watching it I thought completely normal! Until I realised it will be shocking to the public. But is our unfortunate norm

it also made me laugh at the end with the disclaimer saying it doesn’t represent every trust in the country because it definitely does!

Allthecatseverywhereallatonce · 01/07/2024 22:11

@MMercury2702 I thought exactly the same. Unless you have been in hospital in the last few months it will be a complete shock. As a nurse I can guarantee this is happening in many a trust up and down the country.

Yes I thought the same! I'm an ex nurse now lecturer. Isn't the Welsh government still dependent on Westminster funding (i genuinely don't know! Here in NI our finances are budgeted by our stormont ministers but we do still have to go cap in hand to Westminster. I'm truly not too worried who people vote for as long as you vote the tories out!

As a former nurse I genuinely can't understand the mentality anyone who continues to vote tory.

VAT on school fees come on.....surely health takes priority?

Private health insurance doesn't cover A&E. Do people not care about what happens to their loved ones in the event of an emergency?

Exactly.

All the shocked people on here aren't prepared to be nurses themselves. They just expect other people to do it.

Also the doctors and nurses who work in A&E should get paid double what other similar qualified employees get paid but the unions would never allow it.

Pantaloons99 · 01/07/2024 22:36

I can assure you that this is the norm across the NHS. I have had the misfortune of long stays at various hospitals in my region. I am now so terrified I have actually risked my life not to go there ( severe pneumonia, severely immuno compromised, severe bowel blockages, history of sepsis).
It is terrifying and the gaslighting is severe. I know not all do this but so many do when backed against a wall. And then there are the sociopathic nurses and doctors. I shit you not, there are a fair few out there that I have encountered. It is absolutely terrifying.

Motomum23 · 01/07/2024 22:49

I just wish one of the political parties said here is our plan... this is how will will fix the mess. Its all well and good labour promising teachers and doctors but unless they have a magic wand how are they going to find and fund them?? I want to see an action plan not empty hollow promises.

A bit less of the ruddy rainbows and pronouns and a bit more treating patients would be a start
