To not see the GP? Popped vein? Pic added

I have a large vein to the side of my knee, it's always been there but became bigger in my second pregnancy, unsure if it would be classed as a varicose vein.

Anyway, I knelt on mega block on Friday and somehow it's as though I've popped the vein, a bruise came up almost instantly and it was very sore. The bruise has got bigger and does look quite nasty. Can you even pop a vein?

DH thinks I should at least send a pic to the GP as it throbs a bit when I walk but I'm assuming it'll just fade like any other bruise....

Yes you can pop a vein. I'd do an online contact with the GP if it is still very painful in a couple of days, but should heal within 10 days after it's blown
