To think that Eamonn Holmes is playing for the sympathy vote

Just that really. Every time I see a post about Eamonn Holmes it's poor me, look at me, poor me.

I can see that Ruth is keeping a dignified silence though.

Eamonn is winding me up. Aibu to feel this way?!

Anyone else?!

Yes. This. He's always been a bit whiny though. I like Ruth so I'm probably a bit bias.

billyt · 29/06/2024 23:50

You are being unfair.

Poor bastard has to live in a 'little' flat, apparently.

He's a slimy bastard, anyway.

LittleBitAlexisLaLaLaLaLa · 30/06/2024 00:01

Yeah I saw something about him living in a “little flat” or something but how little is it really? Hmm He must be minted. It’s a shame for him that his marriage has broken down and his health isn’t as good as it could be but he’s luckier than many people in his position because his career still seems to be fine and he’s bringing in very good money for being a dickhead on TV still.

Don’t blame his wife for having enough of him, I couldn’t put up with him for long either.

So if a bloke messages another woman the wife should overlook it if he can barely walk. Funny cos thats usually a LTB scenario over on the Relationships board. Why is it different for famous women. Or is it just wanting to believe the worst of women

ABirdsEyeView · 30/06/2024 00:13

I think he's working the 'poor little old me, abandoned by wife in hour of need' narrative and ignoring the 'been seeing another woman behind wife's back' one.
They have a son - I would have far more respect for him if he maintained a dignified silence, as Ruth is going, instead of making little digs at her.

Just because he is ill, it doesn't mean his wife can't ever leave him, if the relationship has disintegrated. I very much doubt that she has left him because he is ill (women seldom do), more likely that the relationship has collapsed and she's left despite his illness.

Netaporter · 30/06/2024 00:14

I saw him once in the Chinese in Weybridge. Only person I know who looks larger in real life than he does on the telly.

I think he’s a horrible man. He managed to find a source of comfort very quickly. Though God knows how as he’s hardly attractive.

HelenaWaiting · 30/06/2024 01:11

I don't think Ruth has maintained a dignified silence at all. They've both been dishing it out in the press. A plague on both their houses.

jazzybelle · 30/06/2024 01:11

Yes. He's me, me, me. And to think he criticised Anthea Turner. He is also a sexist. When he was hosting This Morning with Ruth, Rihanna was a guest and he made a comment about how disappointed he was because she was wearing trousers as he wanted to see her legs. 🙄

She didnt have much choice He was happy to let everyone think that she left a poor disabled man.

I would get the same reaction if i was to leave DH. Because people are always happy to think the worst of women

Wishimaywishimight · 30/06/2024 13:08

I'm sure I read that his "little flat" is "near a roundabout" - no idea what a roundabout has to do with anything 😁

MollyJustMight · 30/06/2024 13:17

He deserves what he gets. Nasty toad like man.

I am confused also, as it does sound like he has cheated, but now is peddling the 'poor I'll me, I'm ill and my wife has abandoned me' line in the press.

…because I think it’s meant to imply it’s on a busy road, compared to a £3m home in leafy Surrey.

Americano75 · 30/06/2024 14:20

Guys, guys, come on.

It's a busy roundabout.

ABirdsEyeView · 30/06/2024 15:56

I don't understand any meaning about the house - if it's a shared asset, Ruth will either buy him out or they'll sell the house and he'll get his £1.5 million. I'm finding hard to dredge up much sympathy for anyone living in their own (I'm sure very nice) flat, while waiting for their share of the marital house value to come through.
There are divorcing couples forced to share tiny homes because they can't afford to finance separate ones while waiting to finalise things.

Hoppinggreen · 30/06/2024 16:00

I imagine that much younger blonde who is allegedly "helping him through his divorce" is giving him lots of sympathy

Yeah he is.

Hes not young and good-looking tho, so sympathy will be meagre and short-term at best. Not that I could care less, he's said some horrible stuff in the past so he can stew slowly in his own karma now.
