Police taking this long to recall?

3 weeks ago a local man in his early 20s was wanted to be recalled to prison for breaking his tag off. A male i know im his early 50s has always tried to be nice to him and keep him on track. Felt sorry for him.

This young lad has a history of crime and theft and has been phoning and shouting up at his windows the last few weeks. Harrasing him for a place to stay then when hes ignored he starts threatening and starting.

I have reported this to crime stoppers today but whats ridiculous is hes been in the main part of the town day and night for the last few weeks and not been picked up. Hes been up to allsorts. Aibu to question why the police cant find this criminal.

My friend is too scared of the consequences so isnt wanting to phone police and give details.

Why not phone the police instead of crime stoppers?

Because its safer to not get involved on that level. He does not want the police at his or anyone finding out he reported it. Hes scared!

The police are not allowed to disclose who reported the matter if requested. Plus you can make an anonymous report.

Report directly to the police and take care to provide the details about the fear and harassment his behaviour is causing your friend.

Next time he’s there, call the police and tell them he’s outside shouting, causing a nuisance, upsetting neighbours and you think he’s wanted. If they ask for your details say you’d rather remain anonymous. I think Crime stoppers may take a few days to pass info over to the police. It may not be as immediate as phoning the police

If no one is calling it in, they can't magically find him.
