Passport Validity Turkey

Typical posting in AIBU for traffic, sorry! We fly to turkey next Weds and have just realised that DC1s passport is 19 days short of the 150 day validity requirement. Absolute stupidity on our part for not checking sooner, but means we can’t get it sorted in time. Has anyone got any recent experience going to Turkey and how strict they are with this?! Don’t want to throw money away by not going but at the same point definitely do not want to rock up and get sent packing. Done loads of googling and so many mixed responses so thought I’d ask here to see if anyone had any input?

You are quite likely to be prevented from travelling before leaving the UK - at check-in.

Am I going mad or is this a repeat thread?

Nicely, I do not understand why posters cannot understand the difference between times, places and organisations where policies can exist but be flexible vis times, places and organisations where policies will be upheld no matter what.

Flexible policy often: a restaurant who says if you're 15 minutes late you lose your booking. If you are polite, if they aren't busy etc, they may well flex on this.

Vs a government with a legal policy: you must have x time on your passport.

So the key thing is to be sure you're interpreting it correctly. if not, see if there's a way to get an emergency passport.
