Am I being unreasonable in thinking that in some GP practices it is the principal of the practice who will not employ proper qualified gp's and will employ cheaper staff to improve their own salaries.

The practices have recently been given £x extra funding and can employ a PA or can add this to money from their general funding (paid per registered patient plus extras for older people and other services) and employ another GP.
