A few houses down have a wind chime.

It's a quiet evening and I can hear it blowing in the wind, chiming

There's nothing irritating and unpleasant about the actual musical sound. It's very quiet.

But it feels a bit... eerie?

My H thinks I'm off my trolley Grin but I wondered if anyone thought the same

I think in the right circumstances they can sound eerie, but I'd like that. Feeling all spooked. Yes I'm weird. 😂

I love them. I suppose they could feel eerie if the surroundings were spooky, or if you were all alone at night and had just watched a horror film or read a ghost story.

I feel the same about skylarks.... nice enough sound, gives me the chills!

Not eerie but annoying AF

YellowDots · 27/06/2024 22:13

They are awful and I agree that they are eerie. They sound like loneliness. The sound you would expect to hear if you were on death row.

SudExpresso · 27/06/2024 22:14

My dh will say when they appear in a film that it's only a matter of time before something creepy and freaky as fuck happens, so no, you're not alone!

chaosmaker · 27/06/2024 22:41

They have been used in horror films, maybe it's that?
