Has anyone had one or the other and regretted it? Weighing up my options for one little tooth but its very £££.

My friend has just had one done, she also needed a bone graft and it cost 4.5k in total, the results are very good.

A bridge is cheaper but you have to damage a healthy tooth to make one.

I have a couple of implants. Expensive but the results were very good and the implant preserves the bone. If you have missing teeth so there’s no root left in the bone, the bone atrophies and I didn’t want that.

I had bridges 30 years ago before implants were as widely available. As a pp said you have to crown the neighbouring tooth, which puts extra pressure on the root. I’m slowly having to replace double the number of implants I’d have had to have if I’d had implants initially. Very annoying, expensive and painful!

I had a bridge done 27 years ago, right at the front of my mouth - I'd lost a top front tooth due to a bad abscess. The second tooth, which was healthy, had to come out as well. I don't really remember much about the procedure, I think it was long and tedious rather than traumatic.

I was told it would last about 15 years (after which I would need implants) , but it's still as solid as the day it went in and functions as well as my real teeth did. I don't regret having it done at all.

Was in an accident as a teenager fractured the root of a front tooth. 20 years on its still there, however I'm going to end up losing the tooth next to it due to the damage it has caused. I have also had it 'slip' in the past. When it and its neighbour give up I'm going for an implant - I have a little savings pot towards it.
Although age dependent I may just say sod it give me a palette and I'm off on holiday
Forgot to say I had a bridge-after having a pallette for 18months due to age.

I've got 3 implants. 1 premolar & 2 molars. My back teeth seem to be inferiorGrin

I've had them for a couple of years and am very pleased with them. I haven't regretted it.
