Thinking this is a genuine only fans subscription email

Brimfulofasha21 · 22/06/2024 14:03

My partner got an email which I'll post below. Looks legit. When you click on it, it takes you to her only fans.

It's asking for subscription renewal.

He has had only fans before but has said he hasn't used it in ages...

Now, the only thing making me question that he sincerely doesn't know anything about it, is that I've looked through his bank statement and nothings on there.

Also she's not his usual type by a long way. I don't look like his particular type, and neither do I resemble the woman.

As soon as you cluck the email it asks if you want to renew again by clicking yes or no.

Am I being totally niave?

Depends what the email address it is that it has come from.

Some of these scams use wording like that to fool you into thinking I've never subscribed so you click to find out what's going on.

It takes you straight to her only fans page. A very easy click once there to renew. It looks genuine to me.

But what's the actual email address that the email has come from?

WiddlinDiddlin · 22/06/2024 14:17

Expand the info in the 'from/to' area... should give you the full email address it came from rather than just 'OnlyFans'.

Thelnebriati · 22/06/2024 14:17

I think it depends if the payment method has already been entered or you have to input all the details.
If its already been entered then its probably an only fans renewal. If you have to put it in from scratch its probably a scam.

I didn't think to look and it's deleted now so doubt I'll ever know?
It all looks real. She's definitely on only fans.

Presuming he's either subscribed to her before (how long ago is unclear) or he hasn't, and it's a scam. But yeah, check the actual sender email address. It should be in the regular format for only fans presumably, but idk what that is.
Does he deny ever subscribing to this specific account?

I wouldn't have clicked on that, if it's a scam you don't know what you may have downloaded by clicking it. At the least run a good virus scanner.

ButDoYouAvocado · 22/06/2024 14:32

It wouldn’t necessarily be on his bank statement, you can use a credit card to subscribe

Gcsunnyside23 · 22/06/2024 14:35

Did you delete it or did he?

WickWood · 22/06/2024 14:38

Sorry OP, that looks extremely legit to me! I wouldn't believe him for a second.

anothermnuser123 · 22/06/2024 14:44

I have never used onlyfans but based on other accounts, if you log in will it not tell you current and past subscriptions? If so just ask him to log into his account, this would clear it up wouldnt it?

twentysevendresses · 22/06/2024 14:55

Have you checked his credit card account?

Does he have a PayPal account? I upload money to my PayPal account so it's 'in credit' so to speak. When I use it to pay for stuff it doesn't show on my bank account obviously (mine is for work purposes and ease when making purchases for my business).

I'd be of the mind that this was legit - men are sneaky lying little shits when they are caught with their hand in their pants!

Brimfulofasha21 · 22/06/2024 15:13

No haven't seen credit card buy will see if I can. Yes he has paypal. I can also check that.
We both deleted it as saw it together.

I'm wondering if you can subscribe to a free account and then they later start charging?
Does anyone know this?

Are you in America or are all OF subscriptions taken in dollars?

TheTartfulLodger · 22/06/2024 15:19

Most emails have a recently deleted folder?

OttersAreMySpiritAnimal · 22/06/2024 15:29

Never click links on unsolicited emails. Basic online security. It could've downloaded a virus or spyware to your device.
Scam emails quite often look genuine. You have to start with the assumption that they are not and be suspicious of everything.

No were in UK.

I was wondering that to about dollars thought that was unusual

Why not just check your recently deleted folder to see the email address?

Although personally I'd assume it was a scam email and be checking my anti virus software was up to date.

Have you looked in your deleted emails or did this happen a while ago. Did you get 2:emails, why did you both have to delete it?

Which antivirus do you use to stop scam emails, I often get them in batches and something that stops them would be great. I'm happy with everything else about my anti virus software but that would be a really good feature

I don't know any that stop them but I meant check because she had clicked on it.

Jengat · 22/06/2024 15:40

When you say he has had only fans before but hasn't used it in ages - do you mean he's had it while you've been together? Or before you met?
