To think its not just me who misplaces things constantly

This probably sounds ridiculous, but it's really starting to bother me. I'm constantly misplacing things. I just put things anywhere. Main culprits are obviously phone, keys, wallet. And the phone it the absolute major issue. I really genuinely seem to spend all my time looking for one of the above I will have one if them in my hand most likely my phone, be in the middle of something and just put it down and forget about it. Cue 10 minutes of my wondering around looking for it. It could be in the sink, if I've been into the loo, on the garden table, the windowsill in the kitchen, the stairs, the fridge, the washing machine. I even packed it in a box of books when moving house. It's driving me absolutely potty. I hate the damn thing. It's never on loud. I've not had it on loud for 15 years or so. I don't have anyone to ring it for me anyway. Does anyone else do this because currently I think I'm going mad!

Not just you. I feel like half my day is spent wandering about the house saying "I had it in my hand just a minute ago". I now have various devices that can contact each other which helps. My watch can make my phone ring, my phone can make my watch vibrate and my wallet and keys have tags on them that my phone can make play a tune. Haven't yet worked out a solution for my glasses though!

Main culprits are obviously phone, keys, wallet.

Have designated places for the keys and wallet and ALWAYS put them there. No excuses. My keys hang off the coat peg next to my handbag and coat so all three are together. My shoe rack is underneath. Can you do something like that?

As for your phone... this is why we need to do a mass petition for pockets!! Or do as I do and use a tablet for general scrolling/Internet things and keep my phone for actually calling or texting so it stays close to my coat, handbag, keys, shoes, you get the idea.

Designated places for things is definitely the answer. I've also resorted to using a bum bag around the house.
I managed to lock myself out recently. Don't do that, its so massively stressful.

I spend more of my life than I'd like just looking for stuff.

I used to live in a house with one of those locks that locked when you shut the front door. Lost count of the times I locked myself out putting stuff in the bin etc. I became a pass master at breaking I through the kitchen window 🤣

Absolutely this! I pulled the house apart recently for my phone, only to conclude I'd left it on the bed when I stripped my sheets and it had got caught up and gone in the wash. Thankfully I managed to stop and open the machine mid cycle and miraculously the phone seemed none the worse for its bath.

If you have Alexa “Alexa, where’s my phone??” - she’ll ring it for you

if you have an iPhone “Hey Siri! Where are you??” - and he’ll respond “here I am!” (Not useful if you have a home pod though! 🙈)
