AIBU to tell him to F OFF!!
I have been appointed as a Parent Governor at DD's school. I was encouraged to apply by the head who knows of the history between my ex and I.
All parents were notified by email which of course included him. He's called school and is royally kicking off. The words he used are: "Why have you appointed THAT person"
He has been referred to the Chair of Governors. The head assures me she has my back completely and that he cannot take issue because I went through all the necessary and relevant safeguarding checks and everything came back clear.
He's spouting off a load of rubbish and mentioning things that took place in private law children's which is contempt of court.
I just hate the man. He's caused us no end of pain.

Ignore, ignore, ignore! It's sour grapes on his behalf and it will be absolutely obvious to anyone on the outside looking in. You've jumped through the hoops to get the position, so just ignore the arse.

I don't know if they would do this but I think it would be great if the Head could reply to him along the following lines:

"Thank you for contacting us regarding @MamaCita30. Prior to being appointed a governor, @MamaCita30 disclosed her background to us (blah blah blah) and therefore an informed decision was made with regards to her appointment".

If you're a parent governor, you will have been elected (not appointed) by the parent body. He had his chance when nominations were sought to put himself forward - parents have cast their vote (or you've been elected unopposed) and you're their choice! Nothing to do with Head.

Operationally however, the Head needs to tell him to get off school premises if he's kicking off and causing affray!

Good luck in your new role, governors are so important.
