Have you heard of this lot? We have one standing in our area.

The manifesto flip flops between good points being made then terrifying points such as:

there should only be nuclear families with a married mother and father....

coal power plants to be reopened whilst decommissioning wind and solar farms

fleet of Royal Navy cutters to enforce a 200 mile fishing boundary (no costing for these cutters or the additional RN crews)

fluoride not to be added to water, people should buy toothpaste because: choice

moratorium on the use of 5G or any new technology unless proven 100% safe for humans and animals

no housing targets for councils because slashing immigration will free up loads of houses

rejection of hate crime as an aggravating feature in any crimes because: forriners

I've never come across them before, but the manifesto is basically a rant!

Manifesto — Heritage Party

For a nation to thrive it must be connected to its roots. We as the living generation are responsible for looking after the heritage which has been passed to us from our forefathers, and we have a duty to pass it on to the generations which will come a...

It's more than a bit odd!

We've got one standing in our area - utterly mad! I think they evolved from UKIP.

Ginmonkeyagain · 19/06/2024 12:10

Oh god they are 5G nutters.

SocksAndTheCity · 19/06/2024 12:11

We had one of these loopy fuckers standing for the London Assembly last month.

He came second from bottom which is lower than Lawrence Fox, so definitely not one for the CV 🤣

wibblywobblywoo · 19/06/2024 12:18

What are the "good points" you mentioned?

PeonySeasons · 19/06/2024 12:25

wibblywobblywoo · 19/06/2024 12:18

What are the "good points" you mentioned?

Lots of nice remarks about the countryside, looking after the green belt, redevelopment of town centres, animal welfare or similar which is laudable, but promptly linked into some horrifying statement about immigrants being responsible for ruining all these things....

Wow what a party 🙄

PurpleWhiteGreen123 · 19/06/2024 12:31

They usually stand in London local and Mayoral elections and get nowhere.

RufustheFactualReindeer · 19/06/2024 12:36

We have one standing in our area

like you i started reading and agreeing and about 4 sentences later i was like ‘fuck no!’

Buryyiirwhat · 19/06/2024 18:18

You're banned. Along with the forriners and 5G.

Honestly, who the fuck are are these people?

It's like the manifesto for Gilead (Handmaid's Tale, not the pharmaceutical company).

I just followed your link and they say:

While there are many excellent single parents, carers and guardians who do their very best for the children in their care, the bell curve of success for children who are brought up by their own married mother and father is better than for any other model of family. Such children have better educational attainment, economic success and health, and lower rates of crime, suicide, depression, drug abuse or self-harm

Which isn't quite how to described the situation. It's hard to disagree that the above isn't true but I can't imagine how you would go about developing policies that would encourage nuclear families without a cascade of consequences, that would land primarily on women, to achieve it.

Anyway, I've never heard of them - are they in the nat-con universe?

Buryyiirwhat · 19/06/2024 18:32

They would encourage ‘natural’ families apparently, a man and a woman.
Ignoring the fact that there are around 30k LGBT families in the U.K. but 3.6 million children being brought up in single parent households HETEROSEXUAL households where the parents have split.
Not entirely sure how they’re going to round up the dads a who have little to do with their kids, but perhaps if they ban 5G that might help?

Buryyiirwhat · 19/06/2024 18:38

‘We will end legal abortion in all parts of the United Kingdom,’

Not sure how this will sit with their view that the population is too high, but I suppose if they kick out the forners there’ll be more room, plus we’ll need workers for the coal mines they’re re-opening …

Mixedmix · 19/06/2024 18:43

Are they advocating for people to stay with their abusive partner just for the children? The racism is awful too (I'm mixed race). I agree with not putting fluoride in the water though. I've never heard of this party so they must only be in certain parts of the UK.

RufustheFactualReindeer · 19/06/2024 18:46

how come we’ve lucked out then 😩

Summerfreezemakesmedrinkwine · 19/06/2024 18:48

Yeah, it's really full on, they make Farage look like a hippy.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 19/06/2024 19:07

If they gave everyone a Stately Home and free membership.to English Heritage, I'd vote for them.

Oh yes, and a butler, with a silver tray.

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 19/06/2024 19:16

To be honest they’re only one more step of wingnutty stupidity beyond Reform who apparently now say they will cancel Britain’s membership of both WHO and WEF.

Even North Korea is in WHO, I mean how idiotically isolationist do those spanners want to be - and why ? Because they want to exploit your healthcare, that’s why.

And it’s impossible for GB to cancel its WEF membership because it’s not a member.

And gullible idiots are donating to and planning to vote for this clowne “party”.

I think you missed the bits about tax legislation somehow fixing this (taxing single parents maybe?), banning sex education before age 16, only teaching about reproductive acts and nothing else, promoting positive male role models (that isn't a bad part), refuting toxic masculinity (not clear on this - perhaps they don't accept it exists), and something about Hungarian legislation being good despite them being forriners too.

There’s one at my mum’s constituency. He is thought to be nice but odd. His wife is nice. And very foreign as it happens.

Lonelycrab · 19/06/2024 20:05

moratorium on the use of 5G

moratorium on tinfoil and its protective qualities more like. 5g occupies roughly the same frequency range as the old analog tv signal, that was beamed out at far higher amplitudes but I guess that was before bill gates planted microchips in us…Hmm

Idiots. Had no idea this party were that bad, but the one thing the last decade has shown me in this country, is that there are an awful lot of gullible, stupid numpties out there.

nastypeiceofwork · 19/06/2024 20:22

Saw them ranting in Oxford one day. Terrifying!

As someone who is politically homeless, I did exactly the same thing.
Luckily there is another small party in my area that looks promising. Going to do some more investigating.
