Can someone tell me if AIBNU to ask for a fan at work? I am menopausal so v hot most of the times, and work in a kitchen. I work on my own in a small room and asked my manager to provide me with a fan/cooler. Was told to open a window, but window goes out into an inclosed courtyard and we a in a basement, so it's no help at all.
Is there any rules/laws for menopausal women to make management to make adjustments?
Googled, but didn't find anything.

Things you can doYou can request reasonable adjustments be made within your workplace to help you manage your menopausal symptoms, such as:

  • flexible working
  • requesting a different uniform if you are experiencing hot flushes
  • moving to a cooler part of the office or asking for a fan
  • using technology where it can help you, for example setting up reminders on your phone or taking more notes to help with ‘brain fog’

although for the sake of less than £20 I'd just buy the fan
