Hotel connecting doors

Aibu to think, with all the stories of men walking into women's hotel rooms, lone female travellers shouldn't be placed in rooms with connecting doors?

I have been and I don't know who is next door.

I don't know if the lock is on their side and they can open the door.

I can also hear them snoring Hmm

The room is also wayyyy deep into the hotel (airport hotel so its massive) plus I can hear everything they have/are done/doing so I know I will disturb them when I get up at 2.

Yabu - there's nothing wrong with this.
Yanbu - this is not appropriate.

I hate these too, but the safety aspect bothers me less than the noise and it always seems to be airport hotels. I once had to try and sleep with excited kids next door screaming non stop and wound up calling the desk to change rooms.

I haven't travelled for work for a while, but I always used to put 'no connecting rooms' on the reservation form when I booked hotels.

I'd definitely ask to be moved in those circumstances.

I'm just consoling myself that the hotel has a good night's sleep guarantee and I might get a refund 😂

But there's usually a lock on both sides of the door so at least you can ensure they can't get in

There's no thumb lock, it's a key hole lock.

When I have been in these rooms, it is actually 2 separate doors. You both have to unlock and open your doors to connect the rooms.

VeryGoodVeryNiceChickenNugget · 17/06/2024 02:35

It could be, but it sounds like one, you can hear everything.

I didn't need to worry about disturbing them, their alarm went off at half 2 😂

I don't like them either but there are two seperate doors.
