Help! I ordered a lovely personalised gift for DH with photos of the kids on it, it was due to arrive via AMAZON prime today and now it’s not arriving until next Tuesday 😭

Any ideas please? He’s only going to have cards to open now which is rubbish 😢

How old are DC?

Breakfast in bed?
Print out the thing and give him that, I’m sure he won’t mind it’s been delayed.

DirtyRocker · 15/06/2024 21:37

Run to the nearest late shop, buy a selection of his favourite beers and snacks. Tomorrow take the kids out so he can relax, watch or listen to what he likes with no interruptions

He doesn’t drink and he’s on a strict diet at the moment.

Go buy a box of chocolates so the kids have something to give him, and just explain what happened, he’s not going to mind these things happen.

He’s diabetic and can’t have chocolate unfortunately.

It's the thought that counts. Cards are fine! Just tell him he will have time wait for the present!

tealandteal · 15/06/2024 21:39

A “hamper” made of his favourite snacks? A voucher for something eg a trip with the kids. Printout of the thing you have bought. Get the kids to draw something?

Worriedmum40284 · 15/06/2024 21:40

Trip out somewhere tomorrow? You could take him out for lunch/breakfast. Accompanied with a print out of the gift as PP suggested to say it's on its way.

BunnyMum2000 · 15/06/2024 21:40

Does he like puzzles? Look at Enigmagram … they do an online gift

livealittlemore · 15/06/2024 21:40

Check in Etsy for printable personalised photo cards that you can download and print at home or a shop with a photo printer. I have a shop and can create one instantly for you, but not sure if it's allowed for me to promote it here 😀

whippetwoman · 15/06/2024 21:40

Does he read? You could buy him an online book token from Waterstones. Or a Costa Card or a card for another place he likes to eat in. OR an online membership or subscription.

WineGumm · 15/06/2024 21:40

So annoyed with Amazon as it was meant to be delivered by 8pm tonight, it was so lovely too.

Get the kids input to make him vouchers

E.g. a voucher for them to make his favourite sandwich for lunch one day. A voucher for a cuppa tea in bed. A voucher for them to do [something dad would usually do]

pinkstripeycat · 15/06/2024 21:41

I didn’t realise it was tomorrow. Ah well I don’t have a dad anymore and DC are old enough to sort 🤷🏼‍♀️

That’s a good idea 👍 Something online might work.

like the idea of an online subscription to something.

Yeah I’m gonna tell him what happened but still want him to have something on the day to open.

Yeah I will do that. Father’s Day is a difficult one for him as he has no contact with his Dad. I like him to have a nice day.

That's me fresh out of ideas then. I'm hoping that's what I get though lol

FuzzyStripes · 15/06/2024 21:48

Surely it will turn up tomorrow so he can still open it on the day, even if it is later than planned? Can you wrap a picture of it and tell him it’s on its way?
