What would you do?

He states who has hurt him and nothing ever happens.

I would formally lodge it each and every time with the school and go down the formal complaint process. School need to keep him safe and, as his parent, you need to advocate for him and be that annoying person who won’t let it drop.

Ultimately though, is it the right school for him?

DingDongWitchDingDong · 14/06/2024 12:04

They always state it wasn't the other child. Unsure why but he seems to always get a free pass.

How do I lodge a formal complaint. It's now so bad we are daily photographing his arms and legs with timestamp.

How old are the children? Police?

Singleandproud · 14/06/2024 12:07

Honestly, I'd just move schools. You shouldn't have to buy obviously they are rubbish. Either that or see how he gets on with a new teacher in September and see if they are any better if not take him out and move him for October half term

Their complaint process should be on their website but otherwise ask at reception for it.

Thank you.

Don’t accept it.Even if your son starts things, which he may not, he’s obviously getting the worst of it.Other kids winding him up?
Be firm with the school. So unfair.

DingDongWitchDingDong · 14/06/2024 12:31

He's in a world of his own. We are trying for a specialist school without much luck.

FuzzyStripes · 14/06/2024 12:56

Changing schools to one with a great Senco and sen support could make all the difference in getting a specialist school via an ehcp if that’s the route you are trying to go down.

DingDongWitchDingDong · 14/06/2024 13:01

I live where there's 1 school. Next an hour away. I am seriously considering it.

What is the school doing to protect your child?

siameselife · 14/06/2024 13:32

Have you had a formal meeting with the head teacher? I might start there and then if needed lodge a formal complaint and contact the governors.
Do you have a copy of the school's policy for managing bullying? Are they following it?

HowDidJudithSurvive · 14/06/2024 13:36

Your poor son, I am so sorry this is happening to him.

You need to be on top of this, demand to know what they are doing to keep him safe. Follow their complaint policy to the letter, log every action you take.

user1492757084 · 14/06/2024 13:37

Get serious. Do not put up with that abuse.
Go into the school with the photos every time and at the same time make a formal complaint to the Police.

The bully's parents need some one (Principal, Police) to strongly suggest to their bully child that they stop!

Sue152 · 14/06/2024 13:37

This is appalling, your poor son! Have you spoken to the head? If not send all the pictures to the Head and ask how they are going to safeguard your child. If the Head isn't helpful then go to the Governors.

DingDongWitchDingDong · 14/06/2024 14:12

The other child is 9

OP posts:
DingDongWitchDingDong · 14/06/2024 14:13

Yes, it never happens. It can't have happened. He has no bruises when not at school.

OP posts:
DingDongWitchDingDong · 14/06/2024 14:14

The head - hasn't happened, he's been nowhere near the other child.

OP posts:
ManilowBarry · 14/06/2024 14:14

Whatever the circumstances the facts are he is being injured on the school premises. Never send him there again.

DingDongWitchDingDong · 14/06/2024 14:16

I'm seriously wondering if that is the way forward. He's just not confident and wouldn't defend himself.
