mum (early sixties) fell downstairs last night - maybe 2-3 steps distance, landed on lower back/coccyx area. Insisted she was alright(!) and she didn't need 111 or anything, but this morning (she was meant to be working) I came downstairs to her on the phone to 111. She never seeks medical help, EVER, last time she had a GP appointment it was because I made it for her! But she voluntarily did this. They sent her to minor injuries but apparently she's now been sent the the big city hospital, but signal/reception is really patchy there so I can't get through to her to find out WTF is the matter, I don't even know where in the hospital she is just that she's been sent to this bigger hospital. I'm terrified she's broken/fractured her back or something , it's not like her to voluntarily leave work early either but she wouldn't say anything except that her back was 'really really painful and my usual pain medication isn't touching the sides'.
Need handhold/some sense slapping into me

Try not to panic. It's probably just something that needs further checking with more specialist doctors/equipment than they have at minor injuries. They may just be checking that all is ok before being 100% about a diagnosis.

Broken coccyx can be very very painful, so it's not impossible it's just something like that.

Just ring the big hospital, explain your mum has been transferred, likely still a+e .. they’ll trace her from their computer.
Can you go to the hospital? Even if you went to the wrong department, they’d find her on their system and you’d find her eventually.
