Served frozen prawns and hairy prawns

If you were in a restraunt and had ordered a prawn cocktail which first came with a thick facial hair on, then sent this back and they sent you a new plate where the second plate is full of prawns which are frozen, what would you expect the restraunt to do? Discount?

I would ask not to be charged for the prawn dish. Were the other dishes OK?

Yes but then my partner has had to miss out on a starter which is no fault of his own? By the time the second plate came the rest of us finished ours then we had to send this one back also. When we first arrived we were sat and had to ask for someone to take our drink order after 20 minutes, then when it came the waitress had spilt the Prosecco on the tray and some of our drinks had leaked abit which splashed onto us then we experience this.

I think I would probably have left at that point. I wouldn’t want to risk eating anything from a kitchen with such poor food hygiene standards.

We can see the chef from our table with a lovely thick black beard uncovered so we suspected the culprit immediately

Do you mean the prawn was still in its shell which often is used as a garnish or were all the prawns in their shells.

Yep I have to say, hangry kids or not, I’d have gone to the chip shop rather than risk the main courses.

Human hair in food? Immediate walk out. Spilled wine and frozen prawns are bad enough but no tolerance for poor hygiene.

Shit might happen but when shit happens twice, it’s probably a good indicator that it’s time to go home and make a sandwich.

You can get seriously ill from prawns, I'd report them to environmental health and the manager or head office..

What are the reviews like on tripadvisor? I would have taken photos of this hirsute prawn and if the service in the restaurant wasn't as expected- written to the manager. IF that wasn't sufficient, I'd then write an honest review on trip advisor. Hopefully it was managed in the restaurant a the time though?

I doubt he had the appetite after the second failure to feel like he missed out on the starter. Probably dodged a bullet on whatever it was vibrating under the lettuce.
