Aibu to think UC say and Do things entirely different?

So I've just migrated from tax credits to UC, today my ID was approved and was given an advance and I was told the advance is 100 percent what I would get in my first payment after 5 weeks but after adding all the elements I'm entitled to up, I'm hundreds of pounds worse off?? I thought your supposed to be on par with your tax credits? Or is thr advance not really the true payment you'll get for first payment? I ak not affected by the benefit cap as I care for my mother whose got severe arthritis and hearing issues and I have 5 children born before 2017 so should be edible for child element and I have housing costs so it seems to me they've most likely only awarded me for 2 Children? Is it a myth that you get money for all children Born before 2017 on uc? I really don't know how I'll manage if this is the case 😪 or am I worrying too soon?

I thought the advance was the amount you are entitled to before deductions. But the advance amount will increase as your other elements are approved.

You can claim for all children born before the deadline. It is entirely possible for them to make mistakes I.e. not removing benefit cap so I’d ask in your journal.
