To ask how you pay for US channels via VPN?

I'm using a VPN for the first time to watch a particular US show that has yet to come here.

The VPN was easy. I could watch the first ep for free. Then it asked me to subscribe. I tried to do this for a month, both direct and via Amazon Prime but it just wouldn't let me without US details.

How do people get around this?

I stream from "other" websites.

we use IPTV and just paid with our normal bank card

Nord VPN with a heavy discount code. We connect and go to Netflix etc and see other country’s shows.

Maybe try a credit card like revolut that isnt attached to a specific country, but that sometimes doesnt work. To be foolproof, you need a US credit card that is issued to a US home address

i think what the OP means is she can get connected via a VPN but some streamers need her to subscribe and that requires payment attached to an (eg) American address. How do people get around that?

Noopneep · 11/06/2024 05:53

I buy a gift card for the particular site. It works well.

Lotscanchange · 11/06/2024 05:55

@Noopneep Oh that’s interesting - how does the gift card process work when abroad?

Noopneep · 11/06/2024 09:16

I paid for one using my bankcard and then used the balance to pay for the streaming service. There seemed to be no issues when I was doing this.

I was in a similar spot when I tried to watch a US show that wasn't available here. I managed to get through the first episode, but then it hit me with that pesky subscription wall too. I found that some streaming services really want those US billing details, which can be tricky.

A friend of mine suggested I buy mobile proxy. It really helped me create an account with a US address and payment method. Once I got that sorted, I was finally able to subscribe without any hassle. Just be sure to look into how you set it up; some proxies can be easier to use than others. Have you tried looking into gift cards or alternative payment options?
