Only clean clothes in tumble dryer?

Found DH. Putting damp dog towels in the tuneless dryer…he’d just dried her and figured that popping them straight in the tumble dryer was the right thing to do rather than washing them then drying, or leaving to air dry and reusing them. TBF they weren’t particularly dirty, just damp…

but my firm view was only clean damp stuff in tumble dryer.

YABU …. Fine to dry the damp dog towels without washing first

YANBU … clean clothes/towels only

hes being evasive about whether he’s done this before…on the grounds it’s just a metal drum….

I'm with you. Bad for the dryer but also bad for the clothes / towels: bakes in stains

Very odd.

It's not as if the only alternative available to him was schlepping the towels down to the stream with a washing board and a bar of soap and spending half an hour washing the towels by hand. What was his objection to spending less than two minutes putting on a wash?

You can't put a dirty dog towel in the dryer and expect the dryer to be clean enough for other clean clothes. Where is his common sense. Perhaps outer clothing where you've been caught in the rain would be ok but a dog towel no.
