Trying to convince my husband to allow me to have one.

He's being a misery, saying cats shed hair everywhere etc etc

All cats shed hair exceptnaybe the bald ones. Short hair cats tend to shed less than long haired. And yes the bengals I have known shed hair. Not continually. But they still shed.

OneTC · 08/06/2024 14:46

Yes they do. There are other cats that shed more but all cats shed

They don't shed everywhere if you groom them, short haired cats are easy to brush but if he doesn't want a cat then a bengal might be too active and high maintenance for him, why do you want a bengal.

I just love bengals, so stunning!

I had 2 bengals, a brown one and a silver one. They did shed hair but it wasn't excessive, used to love brushing them too as their coats are so silky

PandaCwtch · 08/06/2024 14:59

Yes they do. Mine used to shed more than my longhaired cats. Having said that, he also used to let me vacuum him which reduced the spread

Get the cat, lose the husband.

Downthemedow · 08/06/2024 15:10

I used to have one and she really didn’t shed much. Not nearly as much as other cats I’ve had, and hardly at all in the winter.

Don’t get a bengal based on appearance alone though. They require high amounts of attention and need access to outdoors but can be a menace if you live in a highly populated area
