My mother in law started making excuses so as not to visit us about 4 years before her Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Her excuses were rather ludicrous at the time. I was quite hurt and sad for the children. She is now in an old people’s home as she absolutely cannot look after herself anymore. Before you jump to any conclusions with a 70+ year old, please check up on her.
