I didn't get up today

I've stayed in bed all day today. Mainly sleeping to try and get away from my brain. It didn't effect anyone else what I did today so I just thought what's the point.

It's good to get out of bed for your mental health. You're the point.

Yeah I think it won't help staying in bed, going out for a walk and listening to stuff going on around you, trees moving, people talking...that gets you out of your own head.

As a one off absolutely fine.

Regularly ? Probably not a good plan.

One day in bed is sometimes what you need.

Just try to get out of it tomorrow and maybe have a shower and change your clothes. It's ok to go slowly.

I only got up today because 1) I had an appointment at the hospital and 2) the dog needs to go out and as all dc are busy elsewhere, that's my job!

I know how it feels. I've had severe depression and stayed in my bed for weeks. But getting up is good for you, even to just get yourself a drink or let the dog out/ give him his dinner.

He was glad I was up!

I wouldn't have enjoyed going for a walk, I don't think it would have made me feel any better.

Sometimes walks are shit. Sometimes they piss me off more. BUT sometimes, maybe even cumulatively, they will make you feel something positive. Even just the trying will help you.

How about just opening the front door, taking in all the shitness from it (if that's what you feel), and then closing the door. You don't have to be all happy clappy Mary Poppins about it. It's just a perfunctory task. Of course it won't "fix" you; it doesn't have to.

You don't have to feel happy. You can feel as crap as you want. Feel or don't feel, not a problem. Just do one small active thing tomorrow - even if it's just moving to lay on the sofa
