tracking apps on mobile phones

had cause recently to have a discussion with my sister about tracking apps on mobile phones.

it seems she insists on her 3 adult children and their partners having a tracking app on their phone so she can see where they are, this also applies to her grandchildren.

now i can see the appeal of a tracking app, but personally, my children are adults, have their own lives and really its non of my business where they go and what they do. i do ofcourse worry that they are safe and well.

apprently i am a bad mother for not caring about my childrens safety and wellbeing and she is horrified that i would not install the app on my own phone so she can keep tabs on me? Am i being unreasonable?

@beckybarefoot I wouldnt dream of tracking my adult children, far less their partners!! more fool them all for allowing her to do this! what they do has nothing to do with their safety and more to do with her being a nosey bitch!

If my mum asked me to put a tracking app on my phone I'd think she'd lost her marbles.

I assume though, your nieces and nephews are fairly young, as in grew up with mobile phones and tracking on there?

My children, my husband and I all have shared find my i phone on. It's not so much for tracking, but rather the unbelievable convenience of being able to set each others phone off when we invariably lose or mislay it. I can't bring myself to worry over it. None of us are creeps, and have better things to do than obsessively follow where the others are. Frankly I doubt we're any of us, ever anywhere interesting anyway.
