NHS Job Evaluation Advice

I have recently submitted a job evaluation as I believe my job has been inappropriately banded. Does anyone have any advice or experience on how long it took for a devision to be made on a job evaluation? I have trawled everywhere, polices, Union websites, and I cant find any guidance on timescales.

Sorry, posted in AIBU for traffic.

Depends on your HR team's capacity and / or whether they outsource the task. No fixed timescale generally but you might be able to argue for back pay if the evaluation goes in your favour.

It’s not a quick process. A job description goes to panel who will determine if it aligns to a standard national framework role. The wait for review can be easily 6-8/52 before it’s heard and If it doesn’t it then needs to go through a local evaluation process with its own timeframe. If it’s agreed that it should be a higher band then the next question becomes is there budget for it. Without budget you then face potential delays of business case processes. Have you spoken to your HRBP about the issue? They would be the best person to guide you on your local timeframes. For reference I have seen the process take in excess of six months on most occasions before a change of grade is implemented.

I was successful with this rebanding and the process took around 6 months from submission of the paperwork to the pay being implemented. Just for anyone who may search for the same advice.
