To ask for sourdough advice?

This is my second time making sourdough and it doesn’t seem as light and fluffy as the ones I have bought.

does my bread look under or over proofed? Or is it to do with the hydration?

I made 2 small loaves, so this is a 250g of bread floor loaf.

I'm not sure it is supposed to be light and fluffy.

I've bought the one from M&S, Bertinet and Jasons and they'd all serve quite well as something I could put in my handbag to defend myself, should I fancy a night out in a pub where there's a risk of a punch up.

But yours does look quite similar to all of those, which would count as a success in my book. However, I've never made sourdough because it sounds like a faff and I don't trust the 'leave the flour and water gloopy mix on the side to capture the natural yeast in the air' or whatever it is part. What if there aren't any of the right kind of natural yeasts in the air round my way?

I'd be proud of that crumb shot!
It looks great.

Toast it, proper butter, heaven.
