3 months ago OVO sent me a final statement bill for 30th June - 29th July 2020 (I have no idea why it's taken so long). The bill is based on estimates and is for £150(ish) which seems ridiculously high to me based on it being for 1 months electric for an unoccupied house. Anyway luckily I have the meter readings for the 30th June and the 2nd of August 2020 which show the estimate is far too high (the whole bill should be about £12). However they are refusing to accept the meter reading for the 2nd of August as the closing reading as it was not taken on the 29th of July (when we switched to a new supplier) and say that as we don't have the reading for the 29th the estimate stands. I don't understand this as the meter reading despite being a few days later shows we didn't use anywhere near as much electricity as they say. Has anyone experienced this or got any advice? I guess my am I being unreasonable is I think they should base the bill on my meter readings despite them not being for the exact dates?
