Hi all, I heard a mouse in the kitchen 4 weeks ago and I put down snap traps that night baited with peanut butter and some with nutella, always wearing gloves to minimise human scent.
We caught one within 15 minutes, and another one a week later. We sprayed cleaner on the droppings and wiped them away.
But I had stupidly forgotten a carrier bag with a bag of crisps and saw they had nibbled through the bag. This was 2 weeks ago. I also saw some droppings on the upstairs hallway, but not in the bedrooms.
Since then the snap traps haven't been touched or moved or caught any mice and there haven't been any droppings either.
But I heard one (or more) behind the fridge or in the cupboard 1 week ago. I laid poison bait that day, again wearing gloves, but still nothing, the snap traps and poison bait are untouched.
I haven't heard any mice for the past week but I can't believe they have gone, because the traps and bait haven't been touched since I heard the mouse a week ago and saw the nibbled bag.
AIBU to think the mice are still there or do no noises and no droppings mean the mice have gone? We will fill all holes withwire wool, caulk today. Thanks
