X-ray result times

A few weeks ago I was referred to rheumatology for suspected rheumatoid arthritis. I was given a general rheumatology appointment for next year
but my GP was asked to arrange x rays, depending on the results I may get a referral to the early arthritis clinic.

The x-ray was marked as urgent so was done on the day but nearly 4 weeks later the x-ray still hasn’t been read by a radiologist. I asked my GP to chase it up but still nothing.
I’m in pain. One of the anti inflammatories my GP prescribed made my stomach bleed, the one I’m taking now isn’t very effective. I’m concerned that without proper treatment I’m going to suffer from permanent joint damage.

I’m sure x-rays used to be reported on within 2 weeks.

AIBU to expect my results to be back by now?

Yeah, that is a long time. I had a non urgent one a couple of Mondays ago and by the Thursday the radiologists notes were on my NHS app and GP text me an appointment for a follow up.

Last time I had an x-ray, the doctor was looking at it by the time I'd got back to his office from having the scan

My gran had one a few months ago and we were told 4-6 weeks at the moment due to a shortage of radiologists at our hospital ( the people who report them. )
