To put up with a messy house for the next two months?

I am about to return from a years maternity leave. It’s been hard keeping on top of housework with the baby and an older DC but I’ve mostly managed it. We do seem to be accumulating a lot in terms of clothes, toys and so on and really everything needs a proper sort. The problem is time is so limited.

I am a teacher so over the summer I’ll have a couple of days a week when the children are in nursery to have a really thorough clear out which will in turn make keeping on top of house things a lot easier. So AIBU to just put up with things being slightly chaotic until the end of July?

I'd just make sure that what I need is accessible and I know where important things are so I'm not running around in the morning looking for DCs wellies/white socks etc! Enjoy your time off OP - the housework can wait!

From now, start thinking about what you can dispose of as you handle each item.

Gather boxes or bags to decant stuff in to for charity etc.

If you get everything together so that when you start you’re not casting around for packing materials, it makes a massive difference.

Preparation and planning are key. I hope it goes well.
