can only spend it once as the saying goes?

wwyd bathroom units in both bathrooms and the wc (nothing fancy ikea most likely) and new laminate downstairs OR a summer holiday

things of note:

bathrooms are fine as is, but would look more put together with units
flooring is only 5 years old and fine (just like the herringbone style)
we’ve got 2 dcs
weve already been on an expensive (well for us, suppose it’s relative) holiday this year But we do like 2 abroad hols a year, 1 weekend away and 1 staycation.

yanbu go on holiday
aibu- do the home improvements

(disclaimer to say posted in chat too but accident)

Holiday. Your kids will always remember the experience with you, they will never remember the units and laminate .

Holiday.

Holiday.

How much time do you spend in the bathroom regretting the fact that it doesn't look put together?

Enough to be a bit embarrassed when people come over. Dh has is very accident prone so the units we’ve got from before (the flat pack ones) have lifted from him constantly dropping water.

the laminate in the Lounge has a slight green tinge which apparently can happen from the sun. Both irk me

Having spent a small fortune on a full renovation and extension to our forever home AND not being able to go away on holiday since 2019, I would still do home improvements.
We haven’t finished the house yet either. God knows when we’ll be able to go away again…

Also we’re not sure if this is our forever home, should’ve said that in the OP

Home improvements, every time.

See that makes a difference. If this wasn’t our forever home I wouldn’t have done what we did (wouldn’t have bought the place to be fair!)
Would you be able to do holiday this year and if these things still annoy you next year and you plan to stay in the house for 5-10 years, do the improvements then?
