Where is my tooth?

So lost my denture with one front tooth. Arghh?! Yesterday
It was in my coat pocket i took the coat to the bedroom took it off lay it on the bed then later took it to hang up downstairs and it seems to have disappeared.

I did pick up n dispose of tissues from the bedroom possibly in the loo!

How could it have fallen in the first place pockets are quite deep!

Any suggestions have searched the bedroom n corridor nowhere to be found.

Has anyone had any replaced? They were nhs about 5 years old but a really good fit im gutted!

Check the coat pockets again!

GrumpyOldCrone · 01/06/2024 08:44

Check the pockets of everything you were wearing in case you absent-mindedly put it in a trouser pocket instead of your coat pocket.

My MIL threw my FIL's very expensive hearing aid down the loo with tissues. New rule in our house is tissues go in the bathroom bin. Always...

Sorry... hope it can be replaced easily.

Has the pocket got a hole and it's in the coat lining now?

Sonolanona · 01/06/2024 09:06

My sympathies OP... I too have lost my valplast denture tooth! Not front one but next to my canines so visible.
I've looked EVERWHERE... and it's going to cost £1200 to replace!!!!
I hope yours turns up!!

Thank you for your replies. Have checked all pockets on everything i was wearing completely empty no holes.

Has anyone had one replaced on the nhs?
The online nhs advice is that it can be replaced at 1/3 of band 3 charge abd there's no time limit.

I've rung nhs dental services who've confirmed this and said it doesn't need to be the same dentist.

However when I've rung dentist they've never even heard of it then say it's if the appliance was given within 2 years and needs to be the same dentist

I honestly do not even get how it fell out as the pockets are quite deep and straight down.

Gosh £1200 that is a lot! Mine was under £300 at that time. Could possibly get a replacement for £100 but the dentist is saying it needs to be the original dentist who im no longer with.

There website doesn't say either way. However when I've rung them they've said it doesn't need to be the same dentist and there isn't a time limit.

I feel quite embarrassed. Tbh at home i don't wear it much but I've not had aby issues. My worry aside from cost is the replacement won't be as good
